Most of us hope that our animals will never require surgical intervention; however, in reality many horses have some form of surgery in their lives, whether it be a straightforward stitch up after an altercation with a gate or castration in the case of a young healthy colt.

Lingfield Equine Vets are able to perform a range of surgical procedures from standing surgery to surgery under general anaesthesia. Our purpose built surgical area encompasses a safe knock-down box, with bespoke padded walls, ceiling and floor with surgical table and anaesthetic machine and allow us to carry out a large range of surgeries under general anaesthesia. This facility means that we are able to to accommodate our increasing caseload, further improving case continuity and helping us maintain our practice ethos of professional service and personalised care. We are proud to say this project has been part funded by a grant awarded from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

With the assistance our in house surgeons, and external consultant surgeons, we are now in a position to extend our surgery services and offer more procedures on site than ever before. In addition to exceptional surgeons we believe in the importance of experienced anaesthetists caring for your horse. Therefore, our experienced team of anaesthetists ensure they undertake additional training in anaesthesia as part of the annual continuous professional development to help your horse have the best possible experience.
