Rachel qualified as a vet from Bristol University in 2001 and after several months of working with bears and elephants in Thailand she settled down to work in a mixed practice in Kent until 2004. She then moved to America and completed an internship in equine neonatology (foals) at the Marion DuPont Centre, Virginia followed by a Residency and Masters in Biomedical Sciences. She was awarded Diplomat status to become a member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2007. Since returning to the UK Rachel has been awarded RCVS Advanced Veterinary Practitioner status in Equine Medicine. She is a Permitted Treating Veterinarian (PTV) for FEI events, registered Official Veterinarian (OV) for equine exports and imports, member of the RCVS riding school inspection team and acknowledged as a senior veterinarian for racecourse work. With a strong interest in equine welfare Rachel does work closely with the RPSCA and World Horse Welfare. She has obtained the Cardiff University Expert Witness Certificate. Whilst Lingfield Equine Vets is now an employee owned business Rachel was instrumental in developing and growing it over the years and is now the Managing Director. In her spare time Rachel runs round after her two kids and tries to keep up with them.
Graham graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh and began his career working across small animal, farm, and equine practice in Scotland. It wasn’t long before he focused exclusively on equine work, where his true passion lies. In 1997, he played a key role in establishing the first equine hospital facility in the north of Scotland at Kingswells.
Committed to lifelong learning and clinical excellence, Graham has completed three additional equine qualifications, most recently achieving a Certificate in Equine Surgery and Orthopaedics. In 2009, he was appointed as an RCVS examiner for the Certificate in Equine Practice, a role he held for five years. He has since been appointed an examiner for the statutory RCVS exams and now also serves as an RCVS inspector for the certification of riding establishments.
Graham’s main clinical interests lie in lameness, gait analysis, and equine surgery, although he maintains a broad interest across all areas of equine medicine. Throughout his career, he has held numerous influential positions, including Director at VetTrust, equine General Veterinary Advisor for IVC, and a representative for the equine sector in NHS antibiotic stewardship initiatives.
He has also contributed extensively to the wider equine community—working with World Horse Welfare, serving as a Joint Measurement Board Official Measurer, judging British Breeding Futurity gradings, and delivering lectures to both horse owners and veterinary professionals at congresses and CPD events.
Outside of work, Graham is a passionate sports enthusiast. He closely follows rugby, supporting both Harlequins and the Scottish national team. A motorsport fan as well, he enjoys keeping up with the McLaren Formula One team. Graham also has a keen interest in equestrian sports and is a regular attendee at the annual Badminton Horse Trials
Heather is a very familiar face with team LEV having been part of the team for over 12 years. She graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2019 and joined the ambulatory team here at Lingfield Equine.
Heather enjoys all aspects of her ambulatory role but has specific areas of interest in anaesthesia, event work and emergency medicine. Heather is an FEI Permitted Treating Vet and also a qualified member of ARVS – Association of Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons.
Outside of her clinical role Heather is also responsible for managing and mentoring our interns on our 12-month rotating internship. She is also the lead Clinical Instruction Mentor for Surrey University student who visit Lingfield as part of their final year clinical rotations.
Heather lives on a family farm outside of Sevenoaks, where she and her husband are raising their two young boys, Archie and Otto. Life on the farm is shared with the family’s two loyal Labradors Chase and Wigeon. If that wasn’t enough most recently Heather has started a pedigree flock of Dutch Spotted Sheep!
Celia graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2021 and has joined our team ever since. She began her journey with us by completing a 12-month internship, after which she joined the ambulatory team full time. She enjoys the variety and challenges of first opinion ambulatory practice, from routine healthcare to emergency cases. She also enjoys equine reproductive medicine, including artificial insemination, and continues to develop her expertise in this field.
Celia is one of our Official Veterinarians (OV) and helps to sort out the necessary health certification and export documentation for horses travelling internationally. She is also one of our VetGDP Advisors, taking an active role in mentoring and supporting new graduates through their first year in practice. She finds great satisfaction in teaching and is passionate about helping shape the next generation of equine vets.
Outside of work, Celia loves exploring the countryside with her husband and her two dogs, Angus and Charlie. She is also a regular at the gym and plays for the East Grinstead Hockey Club’s women’s 4th team.
Bryony graduated from the University of Surrey in 2022 and has been with the practice ever since. After completing her internship with us she spent time with our East branch but now spends most of her time with us at our Felbridge branch. Bryony really enjoys the ambulatory aspect of the job and meeting people and their ponies. Outside of work Bryony enjoys polo, pottery and spending time with her pets.
Assaad grew up in Beirut, Lebanon and qualified in 2017 from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. He went on to complete a 12-month rotating internship in equine practice in the south of France. His interest in equine internal medicine and neonatology eventually lead him to pursue specialised training in the field in various practices in the United States prior to moving to England in the fall of 2023.
Outside of work, Assaad enjoys traveling, long hikes with his dog, and spending time with friends and family.
Robbie joined the LEV team this summer after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College. As our veterinary intern, he works closely alongside our experienced vets—assisting with both on-the-road visits and the care of our day patients and inpatients.
All our interns live on-site, which means there’s always a vet on hand to support with any inpatient emergencies—day or night. Robbie’s hard work ethic and fresh enthusiasm make him a great addition to the team, and we’re excited to have him on board.
Outside of work, Robbie enjoys crocheting and spending time with his retired Thoroughbred gelding, Mac, and his cat, Lenny. Originally from Guildford, he brings a warm and thoughtful presence to the clinic.
Sarah joined the time at Lingfield 2020 as our Head Nurse. Previous to join us she had worked at Redwings Horse Sanctuary for 13 years. It was during this time she completed a BTEC equine nursing technician course and then went on to complete her Veterinary Nurse qualification (RVN).
Sarah has been around horses since she was 11 years old and has a passion for equine health and welfare. She is dedicated to making sure every horse in our care receives exemplary care and is a fantastic addition to our team.
Outside of work she can often be found walking her two dogs, Bailey and Crumpet and is enjoying exploring all the dog walking available in the local area. Having lived in Norfolk with beautiful beach walks Surrey definitely has a lot to live up too!
Amalie joined in June 2022 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in December 2024.
She grew up in East Sussex and has been around horses since she was young. She’s had an interest in veterinary nursing for years and knew from a young age that she wanted to work with horses.
Amalie is particularly interested in lameness, poor performance, as well as surgery.
Outside of work she can be found riding her two horses or walking her German short haired pointers Hendricks and Ada.
Ellie joined our team in April 2024 as an assistant nurse. She has a keen interest in lameness workups and enjoys assisting with all aspects of equine care. Outside of work, she can usually be found spending time with her horse Busby.
Ruby joined us in April 2024 as an assistant nurse, after working in horse racing for 5 years. She has been loving and riding horses since she was 3, and always knew she wanted to work with them.
Ruby loves every aspect of being an assistant nurse, particularly enjoying caring for welfare cases.
In her spare time Ruby enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and riding her loan pony Rio.
Nickie has been part of the Lingfield Equine Vets team since 2013 and became our Practice Manager in 2025. With a background in hairdressing and time spent working at Lingfield Park Racecourse, she brings a unique mix of people skills and horse knowledge to the role.
In 2022, Nickie was named BVRA Receptionist of the Year and now sits on the BVRA council, helping to support and champion the vital role of veterinary receptionists across the UK.
Nickie is passionate about making sure our clients – and their horses – always feel well looked after. She loves being part of such a friendly, hardworking team and genuinely looks forward to coming to work each day.
When she’s not at the practice, you’ll usually find her at the racecourse or rugby pitch with her family, She has the most amazing dogs, Cooper and Dougie
Morgan has been a member of the Lingfield Equine Vets team since 2019. When she first joined, she had no prior experience with horses and was entirely new to working in an office-based role. However, through dedication and hard work, Morgan has significantly expanded her knowledge in various areas, including accounts, insurance, legal processes, and equine welfare.
Her growth within the practice has been remarkable, and she now serves as the Finance and Insurance Manager for both Lingfield Equine Vets and Lingfield East, playing a key role in ensuring smooth operations across both locations.
Outside of work, Morgan enjoys spending quality time with her beloved dogs, Cooper and Dougie. She’s also a passionate rugby fan who loves nothing more than cheering on her favourite teams, whether from the comfort of her sofa or in the thrilling atmosphere of a live stadium alongside her fiancé and her dad.
Morgan’s commitment to professional development is evident in her recent achievement of completing the Associate Veterinary Receptionist (AVR) qualification. This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy as she is the first Equine Veterinary Receptionist in the entire UK to earn this qualification.
Hannah joined the team in 2023, after spending 9 years in childcare she felt it was time for a new challenge. She is enjoys getting to know all of our clients and being a familiar voice at the end of the phone, ensuring our clients and their horses receive the best care possible.
Outside work Hannah enjoys exploring the countryside with her horse Jimmy, keeping her tortoise Albus out of trouble and catching up with friends.
Sally is the longest standing member of Team LEV and we don’t know what we’d do without her. Not only does she lift our spirits when she arrives each Tuesday she keeps us all in line!
Sally is extremely green fingered and it’s only thanks to her that any of the plants at Lingfield survive!
