Here’s a rundown of what to expect when your beloved companion is admitted as a day
patient or staying with us for a few days:
Upon arrival, our dedicated nurses will greet you and your horse, guiding you through a
series of questions to understand your horse’s routine and any special requests you may
have. Additionally, they will discuss the reasons for your horse’s stay with us, ensuring that
you are fully informed about the purpose and necessity of any treatments or procedures your
horse may undergo during their time with us to allow you to give us informed consent.
We’re committed to making your horse’s stay as comfortable as possible! Our stables are
fitted with rubber matting and topped up with Bedmax, with the option for straw bedding if
preferred. We meticulously clean and pressure wash all our stables between horses,
ensuring a fresh and clean environment for every new guest.
We provide hay or haylage and offer a range of feeds, but if your horse has a unique diet or
you prefer to bring your own feed, just let us know! Please refrain from bringing food bowls
or haynets. We meticulously wash and disinfect all our equipment after each use and
between horses to maintain optimal hygiene standards.
Please bring a selection of rugs your horse may need whilst staying with us, such as turnout
rug and fleece. While we have emergency rugs available, it’s best to bring your own to
ensure your horse is snug and comfortable.
Rest easy knowing our stables are equipped with 24/7 camera surveillance, and we have a
fully qualified nurse and veterinarian living on-site, ensuring round-the-clock care for your
horse.
For horses scheduled for a lameness workup or surgery, we kindly request that you bring
them in already groomed and clean if possible. Although we’re more than happy to provide
grooming and cleaning services upon arrival, a head start is always appreciated! Each
morning, you’ll receive a picture of your horse from one of our caring nurses after their
morning checks and a fresh bedroom clean. Your dedicated case vet will keep you updated
as required on any medical matters.
Our clinic boasts multiple purpose-built treatment rooms, stocks, and a dedicated surgery
suite to cater to all your horse’s needs. Plus, we have specialized trot-up, schooling, and
lunging areas for lameness investigations.
For emergencies, our team provides 24/7 on-road and in-clinic emergency care. Simply ring
our practice at 01342 300 008.
Your horse’s well-being is our top priority at Lingfield Equine Vets.
We look forward to providing the best care possible for your equine companion!
