Book a Vetting

We strongly recommend undertaking a five stage pre-purchase examination for all ridden horses. Only this vetting allows us to completely assess soundness and behaviour whilst ridden, as well as the heart's response to exercise and detect wind problems.
Blood sampling from drug testing is strongly advised in all cases. The sample is stored at no further costs for six months from the date of the vetting, and can be tested by the purchaser, vendor or vet at any point during this six month period. Whist doping/drugging horses for sale is exceptionally rare, the sample provides a very useful safety blanket for all parties.
If the vendor is an existing client of Lingfield Equine Vets, we encourage you to employ an independent veterinary practice to undertake the vetting. This prevents any potential for confusion in communication between all parties. 
Our vets will ring you prior to the vetting to give us an opportunity to ensure we fully understand your specific needs and requirements for the horse. This is particularly important if you are not able to be present at the vetting appointment itself. Please provide a contact phone number that we can reach you on not only prior to the day but during the examination itself.
